Hard Capsules

Pharmaceutical gelatin is the main body of empty capsules, which consist of a cap and a body — two-piece capsule shells refined from pharmaceutical gelatin plus excipients.

Both high-gel-strength (high bloom) alkali-process gelatin (Type B — Type B gelatin is bone or cattle-hide gelatin that has undergone liming) and acid-process gelatin (Type A — Type A gelatin is pig-skin or cattle-hide gelatin that has not undergone liming) can be used to make empty hard capsules. The two types of gelatin can be used either blended together or on their own.

Tablets

When pharmaceutical gelatin is used in tablet production, it can serve as a tablet binder or tablet coating; thanks to gelatin's adhesive action, the tablets gain cohesiveness, temperature resistance and hardness.

Specialty Pharmaceuticals

As a natural biological polymer, gelatin offers biodegradability, good biocompatibility and gelling ability, making it a traditional pharmaceutical excipient that is widely used in the medical field.

After degrading in the body, gelatin produces no other by-products, has no immunogenicity, is blood-compatible, and shares the same composition and biological properties as collagen, making it widely used in tissue engineering and drug delivery systems.

Phase One: Establishing the Requirements Profile

After initial discussions, ZGL will understand the customer's requirements for gelatin and collagen peptides and keep any information involving intellectual property strictly confidential. We build a profile based on the customer's current or future product needs, covering specifications, functional properties, product interactions, product constraints, optimal results, currently known alternatives and more.

Phase Two: Sample Development

Based on your requirements, and without violating any commercial restrictions, we will send the best-matching samples for testing. For newly developed products, we will conduct in-depth research, recommend the most suitable product range and provide samples for testing. Phase Three: Quotation and Small-Batch Production Testing
