The trust our customers place in our consistently high-quality products rests in part on our careful selection of raw materials and suppliers, and on the strict control of every step of the production process. Crucially, all of our raw materials undergo rigorous testing and control to ensure outstanding quality, safety, and traceability. We can trace the raw materials and process conditions of every batch we produce.

We use two processes to produce gelatin: the alkaline process or the acid process. Every stage of production is carried out under strict hygienic conditions, and no chemical modification occurs at any point in the manufacturing process. At the end of the process, the gelatin forms gel-like strips, which we then dry and crush into granules. The granulated gelatin is stored for further processing tailored to different customers and applications.

Gelatin is obtained through the partial hydrolysis of collagen. Collagen is a raw material of natural origin, found mainly in the bones, skin, tendons, ligaments, and scales of animals. ZGL extracts gelatin primarily from pigskin and cattle hide. Natural collagen is insoluble in water, while the gelatin produced through partial hydrolysis dissolves in warm water. This multi-stage process is complex, and we keep it under strict control.
